About Us

Founded in 2012 Trevett & Smith Horseboxes might sound like a relatively new name to the horsebox building world but the staff behind the name have been the backbone of designing and building horseboxes since 2008. Before that James Trevett and Colin Smith gained a wealth of experience in commercial body building and refinishing techniques, working for a commercial body repairer. James and Colin decided to start their own company to utilise their years of experience and to continue building quality horseboxes with the best possible payloads. 

Our 3.5T horseboxes have some of the highest payloads due to the lightweight but extremely strong panels we use in the manufacturing process. Over the years with regular feedback from customers, we have been able to develop designs and building techniques to improve horse safety and that all important payload! Our design has an aluminium box section framework behind the cab for extra safety and a full height bulkhead between horse and jockey area. 
The 6.5/7T horseboxes have the luxury of a huge payload which you will find difficult to exceed, yet they drive like a much smaller vehicle with excellent visibility, making it easy to manoeuvre. You can choose from side or rear ramp and have your horses facing to the front, rear or herring bone. We try to accommodate all your requirements! You can also choose your living area layout which suits you best. Our 6.5/7T builds are based on the Iveco Daily chassis because it’s easy to drive characteristics and the many different wheelbase options.
